Biography

Anybody is an independent alternative rock artist from the Netherlands, who writes, records, produces and releases music from his couch at home. He is at the same time a one man band and a lonesome singer with a guitar torn between the virtual world of the internet and inspiration drawn from life in the real world. Musically Anybody has been inspired most by Elvis, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, Nirvana, Soundgarden and the Smashing Pumpkins. Anybody’s sound can be described as arty and bluesy alternative rock, covering the range from acoustic folk to loud and distorted grunge. If Anybody makes drastic shifts in style between projects, it is mainly because he hates making the same album twice and shuns the idea of becoming a musical formula. The result of his song writing is always more or less a blend of styles and the loudness of the music all depends on mood and artistic concept. Regardless of styles and themes, he strives to confront the bare reality of things with his music. To date, Anybody has released the alternative post grunge indie rock revisionist album ‘XIII’ (2013), the postmodern acoustic troubadour concept album ‘Driftwood’ (2015), the loud and grungy two EP’s ‘The Love/Hate Ratio’ (2018) and the folk rock album ‘Scratching the Surface’ (2020).
