Biography

Indie Pop / Indie Rock / Art Pop The bianca Story are an odd but compelling band. Try imagining The Cardigans, the The B-52's and Talking Heads at a Fleetwood Mac reunion gig and you're probably nowhere near. Through this vibrant 5-piece, the 80s get a slacker, soulful feel, courtesy of a beardy bloke (Elia Rediger) with a lazy Phil Oakey drawl. In one twist, their music produces angular dance-beats that could punch a hole in the floor, or smooth over the cracks of heartache. Eclectic, intelligent pop music. The band is also known for their performances and multimedia art like the release of the Unique Copy Album in 2009, where they auctioned the only copy of their album as a multimedia-sculpture. The piece was exhibited and sold to a private art collector for 10,000 Swiss francs. The second album, Coming Home, was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London and was released in January 2012. In March 2012 the Deutsche Oper Berlin invited them to visit with their Soundtrack from the Play "M & the Acid Monks" (Original Score) for a music theater that they had written with director Daniel Pfluger. In 2013 their crowd funding project „Are You Digger?“ (germ.: Bist du Kumpel?) collected 91,662 Euros, allowing the album Digger to be free. Using the Matterhorn as a symbol for the music industry, they dug a tunnel through its old rocks. In March 2014, their new album was presented during the Digger-Tour at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, followed by an extended tour.
