Iakovos Dakoutros (1955 - 2016) was born in Athens where he took his first classes in classical guitar in the National Conservatory at the age of 10. While still a student in Counterpoint he earned a music composition award for his piece "Thira I" (composed for Violin, Violoncello & Piano) and "Ekati" (for orchestra and soprano) earned recognition in the 1st International Competition of Olympia. Had experimented in improvisation and programmed electronic music, in psychoacoustics, and the psychoanalytic field of music. In addition his own system in music education has been applied in schools. He composed music for several theatrical plays and participated as a composer in festivals like "Athens, European Cultural Capital" and "Dafni Church Festival". He was also a radio producer for Jazz music and Greek Music radio broadcasts accompanied with interviews from notable people in the respective fields. Founder of the non profit organization "Balkan Music Preservation Society". "Planeta Terra", "Life on Earth" and "The Millennium of Peace" were adopted by the Biopolitics Organization and Greenpeace. Originator of the release of the CD "Dream for Two" which was a fund-raising effort in the battle against A.I.D.S. for the Ministry of national health of Greece.
