Biography

If having a Haitian mother and a father from Arkansas is the formula for breeding talented artists then Haydee, formerly known as Danica The Morning Star, is the proverbial proof in the pudding after being born in Hollywood Ca. This singer/songwriter, seasoned vet’s success didn’t come without trials and tribulations with a sequence of events leading to who she is and who she’s destined to become. On Jan. 12, 2010 her roots, Haiti was pained by a massive earthquake. Five years later she suffered a great loss and just as her family’s country had endured that massive quake she had her bout with survival as well. This galvanized her to reinvent herself by changing her name from Danica The Morning Star to Haydee. Haydee began singing, writing, and acting at a young age. When she was 12 she began learning jazz and fell in love with jazz legends such as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn. When she was 16, she landed the role of “Annie” in her high school play which put fire under her to create more. The seeds were planted early, and a profound, well rounded musical infrastructure started to grow. Haydee has been a force in the game for years and has the bona fides to prove it working with the likes of Aloe Blacc, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, & Tha Alkaholkis. Haydee loves to story tell, role play, and reinvent new characters through her music. Despite her experience, seasoning and an influx of music genres this feels like only the beginning for Haydee. This artist is worth staying tuned for!
