DARK BARDO is a collaboration between producer/mixer Andy Baldwin (Björk, Elle King, St. Lucia) and producer/composer Filip Mitrovic (Angelo Badalamenti, Childish Gambino, Jon Batiste). Drawing on influences as diverse as Tom Waits, Cocteau Twins, La Femme, Gorillaz, My Bloody Valentine, Air, Moondog and the film scores of Bernard Hermann, it falls into the category of psychedelic rock - with a desert cowboy/Morricone/Afrobeat/Bossa twist. The first single “Wild Thought”, released in February 2023, features Zimbabwean-American singer/songwriter Shungudzo. She is known for her work with Jessie Ware, Jim James, Chiiild, Oliver Heldensʼ “Fire In My Soul”, as well as her own solo project featuring radio favorite “Itʼs A Good Day (To Fight The System)”. The debut album “Contact Sailor” was released in October 2023 along with the most recent single “Aftermidnight Cowboy" which features Nini Fabi from HAERTS and renegade outlaw artist - the cowboy himself - Harrison Roberts. In the bands’ words, “Contact Sailor” is an ode to life and the mystery of the Bardo.
