The early years of Phil’s music career saw him performing in a string of bands. He cut his teeth on the road playing in venues throughout New Zealand alongside local legends such as Neil Finn and The Feelers, through to internationals Velvet Revolver and Simple Minds. Phil has since been based in Bali as one of the top working musical performers on the island. Yearly solo tours throughout Japan, Singapore, Australia, and his homeland New Zealand have kept the travel bug well fed. With the pandemic slamming the brakes on all live performances in early 2020, Phil moved to a small village on the northern tip of Bali. With palm trees and an ocean view, he set up his home studio and hit the ground running. The show must go on! Taking advantage of the downtime he has worked relentlessly on various musical projects including Sound Design for TV & Film, an electronic duo project called ‘Hotel Death Star’ (releasing five singles in 2021), The Bali Rooftop (an online music platform filming live band performances) literally on Phil’s rooftop, along with the recordings for this forthcoming rock EP.
