Kevin Scott Davis is a multi-instrumentalist & composer who records as Glowworm & Beta Cicadae. Davis has worked as a producer, mixing engineer, string arranger, and music engraver, and is a former member of the shoegaze band PacificUV. Davis’ music has been featured extensively in national media, including HBO’s Californication and on the popular public radio program This American Life. Glowworm's first album, The Coachlight Woods (recorded in Portland, OR in 2007 as a side project with drummer Jesse Robert W.), received international acclaim upon release, and returned to the spotlight in the streaming era when featured on some of Spotify’s largest editorial playlists, earning it over 30 million streams and solidifying the album as an instrumental cult classic. Now based in Georgia, Davis is returning as Glowworm to finish a second full length album. Heavily influenced by classical music while retaining the original project’s ambience, the album features a host of friends and collaborators, including Italian violinist Laura Masotto, Polish bassist Maciej Sadowski, bass and cello duo Lowbow, and pianist & vocalist Asia Dojnikowska, with mixing by James Plotkin. A series of singles will be released starting July 2020, with the full length LP following in October.
