Shavon has worked with such luminaries as Faye Carol, David Murray, Howard Wiley, Kahil El’ Zabar, John Santos, Kev Choice, Norma Miller, Chris Martin, and Janice Maxis Reid. Shavon performed solo on the Fox Theater stage on OSA Spotlight Show and OSA Identity Show 2015-2016, and was awarded Best Song in Nina Simone- Four Women. Shavon alongside OSA Chamber Choir performed for TEDXBerkeley on live broadcast television, and Notes & Words benefit concert for Oakland Children's hospital. Shavon also traveled the Bay Area singing lead in Tavia Percia’s Play: Enumerated Negro: Story of Emmett Till. In addition to opening for Kahil El’Zabar Ethnic Heritage Ensemble and Live Arts Resistance 2017. With appearances at major festivals/venues including The Malcolm X Jazz Festival, Amiri Baraka Jazz Festival, June Teenth Festival, Solano Stroll, Berkeley Street festival, and Oakland Pride 2017- 2018. Shavon released her first album Creation in 2013; second album Catharsis 2015 as well as her book Memoirs Of A Broken Heart; third album Shavon Live At Jazzschool (2017) and 4th acclaimed album Undefeated (Aug 2017). Shavon has created her own business Bright Future’s Music for east oakland youth providing free to low cost accessible music education.
