Devin Simpson is a 23 years old singer, musician and songwriter, who is finishing her 5th and final year of schooling at Queens College. She is studying Media Studies and Music Production. Devin has been performing in a Christian pop/rock band, Pursuing JC, for almost 4 years, touring up and down the East Coast while performing at various festivals and retreats. Although nobody would know, due to her amazing and powerful voice on stage, before joining the band she struggled with terrible stage fright that even restricted her from singing in front of her family. After facing her fears, she not only loves singing in the band but wants to continue performing and growing as an artist. Devin has a strong passion for writing music and hopes to begin sharing her music and becoming known, not just as a writer and performer, but also as a voice for those people who struggle to find their way through their own personal issues. She recently performed an original song “Stronger”, with her band behind her, at a memorial fundraiser for a friend of hers who recently lost her battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She hopes to release the song soon in memory of Rachel and in hopes of raising awareness of AML. Let’s keep our eyes and ears open.
