Trio Bobo was formed in 2002 by Faso and Christian Meyer, the acrobatic rhythm section of Elio e le Storie Tese, originating from their need to play musical genres that their "mother" band would rarely be approached, such as jazz, fusion, and African sounds. The trio is completed by Alessio Menconi, a brilliant guitarist who is known for his collaborations with great international acts, including having been part of Paolo Conte's band in four albums and various European tours. After some time spent performing cover versions, they started writing their own material and recorded their first album ("Trio Bobo") in 2005, gathering a sudden interest in the Italian jazz scene. Despite the many commitments of the individual members, first of all the intense live activity of Elio e le Storie Tese, Trio Bobo never stopped performing in clubs throughout Italy and sometimes also abroad, and in 2016 recorded their second album, "Pepper Games", which strengthens the band’s distinctive sound, based on African grooves, Latin sounds, and a pronounced jazz/rock influence. In 2019, Trio Bobo recorded their third album, "Sensurround", launched by the single "Ghetto", sung by Indian singer Varijashree Venugopal.
