Biography

VazzVazz were from Glasgow, Scotland and existed as a duo in the 1980's. The group consisted of Hugh Small (all music and instruments) and Anna Howson (all voices and lyrics) and were featured on the late, great John Peel show on BBC Radio One a few times. Their first single 'Breath' was released in 1985 on the Cathexis Recordings label. They released two further 12" singles ('Feverpitch' and 'Pearls') and a mini-LP ('Your Lungs & Your Tongues'). An extensive series of vinyl retrospectives have appeared of late on the Belgian labels Forced Nostalgia and STROOM as well as the American label Numero Group. Hugh Small is currently recording for the Dutch label Melody As Truth and will release a collaborative 12" EP with Los Angeles saxophonist Anenon in 2021.
