In Their Eyes

Biography

In the late 90s, alongside Fred Berhet and Arnaud Taillerfer, DJ Oil (real name Lionel Corsini) co-founded the renowned group Troublemakers. Their debut album "Doubts & Convictions" under the American label "Guidance Recordings" in 2000 garnered international acclaim and their second album "Express Away" released under the "Blue Note Label" sold over 200,000 copies, solidifying their musical prowess. Following Troublemakers' hiatus, Lionel embraced the persona of Dj Oil, captivating global audiences with live performances and DJ sets at clubs and festivals worldwide. Between 2005 and 2010, he crossed continents including Africa and South America, immersing himself in diverse rhythms, collaborating with 200+ musicians, and experimenting with machines and instruments. Lionel Corsini, hailing from Marseille, France, and now residing in Paris, is a versatile composer, musician (bass, drums & keyboards), producer, and DJ. Steeped in music from a young age, he became the resident DJ at "Trolleybus Box" in Marseille at 17 and hosted a radio show on "Radio Grenouille." His discography includes albums like "Black Notes" (2012) and "Phantom" (2015), showcasing his eclectic blend of electronic, hip-hop, jazz, funk, and more.
