Kotrell, born Atonopriya Cotterell, is an afro pop-soul artist from Rivers State, Nigeria. His sound is a unique blend of African soul and western pop music. Kotrell's soulful voice and rich tone affords him the ability to paint pictures with his vocals and watertight lyricism. While still in high school, Kotrell began his music journey as a rapper. At age 9, he composed his first song, and at age 11, made his debut studio recording. Kotrell's growth became evident when he had his first sold-out solo show "Kotrell Live in Concert" in 2018 while studying Economics at Bowen University, where he graduated as a first class student. In 2023, Kotrell released his debut project “Love is…”, a 6 track EP that can simply be described as honest, soulful, and undeniably emotionally provocative. In September 2023, Kotrell put together his second sold out solo show, The Kot Yard, which has been described by many as a truly wholesome and memorable music experience. Kotrell continues to evolve as a singer/songwriter, performer, and recording artiste, ready to share his gift to the world and tell the stories that matter through his music.
