“Morgin” (20) is an upcoming female artist from the westside of Birmingham, Alabama. After getting positive attention in 2018 from freestyle videos in her car, she decided to take music seriously. Morgin wrote her first song in 2016, which was inspired by altercations with her high school boyfriend. Her senior year, she began to write more & more, but never told a friend, relative, not even her mom. After a year of writing songs and perfecting her craft, she decided New Year (2018) would be her “pop out” year to start releasing music, and did just that. There were hardly no aspiring female rappers in Birmingham at this time, so she was skeptical about posting her first video rapping in the car. After showing it to her mom & closest friends, it gave her the confidence boost she needed. The next morning, after uploading the video on Facebook, Morgin woke up to nearly 2,000 shares, and it was that moment, she decided she would take music serious. She later graduated from Fairfield High School, (located in Fairfield, Alabama), which is about 3 minutes away from where she resided in Ensley.
