Biography

For the 10-year anniversary of his self-titled 2013 album, Ryan Amador releases two brand new versions of both "DEFINE ME" & "INSTEAD," coming off the heels of his most recent album "Love In The Age of Anxiety," his 4th LP to date. Ryan started writing songs at age 9, emulating late 90’s MTV with his own elementary school boy band. In 2012, he released his first EP with NY-based creators Justin Goldner & Shaina Taub, and then self-titled "Ryan Amador" album with artist-producer David Baloche, featuring the talents of many of his college classmates, including vocals from Kiah Victoria & Jo Lampert, drums by Sammy Miller, & cello by actor Mason Lee. Ryan is best known for his song "Instead," videos "Define Me," "Spectrum," & "Loverboy," and fan favorites "On The Surface," "Saint of Love," & "Like A Woman," a collaboration with women's rights organization V-Day. In 2014, he released "4S" an electro-soul EP and the first project with collaborator, Daniel Weidlein. From there, the pair embarked on an album & film project titled “(In) Body Vol. 1: Becom(In)g" (available on YouTube). In 2017, Ryan released two EP’s: a raw folk EP "Seattle Songs" & the experimental EP “The Lost Tapes”. Ryan recorded his third LP, "The American" (2019), while traveling through the United States. In addition to his own music, Ryan has written songs for Blake McGrath, Luke Edgemon, Peppermint, & more, as well as a theater director, writer, & performer in LA.
