Biography

Born in 1995 in Coria del Río, Seville, Raúl Gómez is a Spanish pop singer and songwriter who achieved popularity in the early 2010s via the television talent show El Número Uno. Hailing from a family of musicians, Gómez studied violin and piano at the local conservatory, as well as being a choir member. More importantly, he grew up accustomed to touring and life on-stage from a very early age. Upon his return from a trip to the United States as a teen, he also began writing his own songs in Spanish and English. In 2013 he made the casting for the second season of El Número Uno, and was eventually crowned the winner at age 19. His debut album, 1, was released by Sony Music in January 2014. Gómez left the limelight for several years, and reappeared in the early 2020s behind the moniker GOMZ with a completely revamped look and an electro-pop sound. ~ Mariano Prunes, Rovi
