Chia The Gift was born in South London in 2001. She is of Jamaican and Vincentian heritage. Growing up she always had this vibrant energy was able to command an audience from young. Her first experiences as an artist was when she went to Britains Got Talent in 2011 where she auditioned ‘Empire state of mind - Alicia keys’ though she didn’t make it to the next round it was still an amazing experience! During her childhood and adolescent years her influences were Alicia keys, Beyoncé, India Arie  Burna Boy & Beenie man there’s so much more but those were her top 5 ! Music is like air to Chía, she grew up on Soul, R n B, Funky House, Bashment, AfroBeats, and my grandmothers Rice and Peas Reggae selection every Sunday she would sing her heart out during her childhood.  She attended The Brits in 2009 and Sylvia Young Theatre School from 2014-2016 because it was apparent she had a talent. It was here that she realised that she wanted to pursue my career in this field. She went on to study Media & Drama at Dunraven to get a deeper understanding into the Media / performing arts world where I earned my A-level qualifications in Media & Drama studies. She was torn between pursuing a music career or acting career. From as young as 12 Chía composed melodies and lyrics together but never really took her music career seriously up until 2020, she believed that she needed to dedicate herself to what she knew she was good at.
