Laura Lizcano is a Colombian-born singer-songwriter based in New York. Influenced by artists like Norah Jones, Natalia Lafourcade and Caroline Shaw, Lizcano combines her formal training as a jazz vocalist with her love of folk, pop and contemporary classical music. This combination of styles is evident within her own lyrically-driven compositions. Lizcano has performed at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola in New York City as the featured vocalist for the Temple University Big Band. She has opened for Gaby Moreno and Sammy Miller and the Congregation at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. Most recently, she has been featured in the virtual Wawa Welcome America Festival (2020) and Philadelphia's iconic Philly Folk Fest (2020 and 2021). Laura regularly collaborates with Almanac Dance Circus Theatre and has written and performed her original music for two of the company's original shows: Happy Hour (Cannonball Festival 2021, Miniball 2022) and Armor (2021), which was commissioned by and presented at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Lizcano's self-released debut EP, Chance on Me (2018), was followed by her first full-length studio album, Heart (2020), now available on all streaming platforms. Her new album Daughter of the Sea is now available.
