Biography

It all begins with Ganesh's contemplation. He bears the name of an Indian god of healing, an elephant whose nasal appendage resembles a saxophone. It is his Indian grandmother from Malaysia who names him after him because his older sister is ill at the time of his birth and he is already expected to be a medicine. So music cures. It doesn't mean that she falls asleep. Ganesh Geymeier loves synthetic tambourines, drum machines, fury and the flood. He puts the tools of contemporary noise, the tinkering with sound, at the service of intoxication. And then little by little, Ganesh invented this sound, slightly cracked by fear, which he is now trying out as a soloist with a computer at his fingertips. Ganesh is no longer just a promise - the prompter we're tearing ourselves away from on this side of the world. He manages to reconcile the soul and the machine, the actor and the observer, the free and the melody; he is from Switzerland and elsewhere in this vertical march where a patinated tenor serves as his wizard's broomstick.
