Joseph Westerfield has been playing percussion for most of his life. In highschool he played percussion in Marching Band, All State Band and All State Orchestra.He studied Percussion and Jazz Performance at Metropolitan State University where he participated in the college pep band and various ensembles. He teaches private lessons and also has been a teaching assistant at both Legend Highschool and Thunder Ridge Highschool. He has been professionally gigging since 2019 playing for weddings, musicals and performing in local bands. Some of these bands include the Mile High Big Band, Gavin Worland Big Band, The Blues 88’s and a Jerry Garcia Cover Band. He has played regularly for several theatres including the Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids, Fire House Theatre Company, Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre and the Vingtage Theatre. Some of his favorite drummer's that he draws inspiration from include Todd Sucherman, Gavin Harris and Art Blakey
