Sri Lankan singer/songwriter Dinupa Kodagoda is a one-of-a-kind Artist and Performer. Born 02 Sep 1987 in Colombo, she has been a promising artist since her childhood. Being a member of the musical Tv programme ‘Hapan Pedura’ (2001-2007), Dinupa has gained her fame as a child artist. She contributes to the music industry as both a professional recording artist and live performer. One of her landmark songs was Premaneeya Susuma which was critically acclaimed as an original Rock song sung by a female artist in Sri Lanka. Dinupa officially debuted as a songwriter with the song Female Forward composed by Nadika Weligodapola, which also featured her singing. More songs: Mahajanathawo (Live), Nil Manel, Kuweni, Datha Dara. At the age of 4, she started to learn Hindustani Classical Music, later on she became a member of Dr Premasiri Khemadasa Foundation (a pioneering composer of Sri Lankan Opera). Since 2008 she has been a member & the co-artistic director of Theevra ensemble. She graduated with a Performing Arts (Special) Degree from the University of Visual & PerformingArts-Colombo. Also gained experience as an actor, receiving the Best Actress Award in the State Theatre Festival 2017, followed by the Best Supporting Actress Award in Raigam Telees 2020. Also, she plays a lead role in ‘My Sweet Rotten Heritance’ (a contemporary folk theatre play) with which she toured Melbourne - Australia (2017/2018), and India for the Bharath Rang Mahotsav International Theatre Festival (2019).
