Vivan Bhatti, born in1975 in Bielefeld, studied music at the Hochschule für Musik in München and the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf. He is working as a composer, guitarist and theatre-musician. Together with his brother, Ketan Bhatti, he forms a composition- and production-team. Their music is situated beyond the borders of contemporary-. electronic- and popular-music. Together they wrote the music for the latest screen adaptions of Wedekind´s “Frühlings Erwachen” and Büchner´s “Woyzeck” (Zdf/ Arte/ 3Sat).Their operas “Discount Diaspora” with a libretto by Feridun Zaimoglu and Günter Senkel, and „Das schwarze Wasser“ based on the theatre-play by Roland Schimmelpfennig, premiered at the Neuköllner Oper in Berlin. The dance-project “Red Bull Flying Bach”, to which they contributed the music, was rewarded with the Echo Classic Special Award. As a guitarist Vivan worked with different bands and ensembles and on different projects from the field of classical music, rock, Hip Hop and contemporary music, and toured through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Vivan Bhatti´s music has been part of many plays staged in the most prestigious theatres throughout German-speaking Europe. Lately Vivan is working together with Ketan Bhatti on the music for their adaption of Mussorgskys “Pictures at an Exibition”, which will be staged by the Flying Steps and Os Gemeos at the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin
