Ras Smaila: Afro Freakin Funky Cosmic Soul n Blues A cross over between Jimi Hendrix, James Brown and Fela Anikulapo Kuti all mixed in a down home Blues and Soul Gombo. Ras Smaila grew up between Africa, the West Indies and Europe. Did most of his schooling between Porto Novo (Republic of Benin), London and Paris. Rock trained on the 80's London scene then toured round Europe sharing stages with some of the greatest he looked up to (Luther Allison John Paul Hammond, Memphis Slim etc). Highlight meeting with Chass Chandler and record deal with Trojan Records. Miko Weaver (ex Prince Funkateer), Paul Powel (ex Jamiroquay base player) are also some cool Cats he had fun playing or jamming with.
