Dre grew up around a toxic environment with no encouragement, pessimistic and degrading attitudes, gang influences in and out of his life and always in the middle of wars between family members causing bad life choices, mental health issues, lots of anger and hate, fear and anxiety; but deep in his heart - he didn’t like it, but it’s all he knew. Coming from an atheist background and only wanting to find what couldn’t be found in people around him, he encountered an experience of the power of Jesus while receiving prayer from the Salvation Army getting a food parcel due to homelessness at 20 years old. After this experience he continued on with his old sinful and worldly ways but still kept it in the back of his mind with awe and shock, weeks later he heard a sermon playing in the background and it spoke his life of childhood and he turned his full attention to it and it reminded him of the Salvation Army experience prior. After this he started noticing a pattern and he wanted to dig deeper. Picking up a bible for the first time he opened the book to Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another” after reading this the penny dropped, the lightbulb switched on and things started making a bit more sense. Continuing writing since 9 he now writes to encourage and inspire people through experiences he’s encountered and how God brought him out of them into a better life, with hopes it helps his audience.
