A story of human ambition over drums and 808s, Papito Scotti integrates his heritage as a Torontonian and Filipino blending poetic flair with his roots as a visual artist. Finding his voice growing up in Toronto’s east end, Scotti is a syncretic creative, manufacturing his own vibe from a combination of diverse inspirations and cultures into his artwork & lyricism. An indie rap stalwart with domestic and foreign experiences, Scotti cultivates a continually evolving aesthetic of street art with fine art and a gift of gab with socio-street commentary through the POV of a North American Asiatic artist. His influences include Nas, Big Pun, Nipsey Hussle, Run the Jewels, Skepta to Bill Withers & Sade, and the resulting sound is heavy yet smooth, poignant & humorous in his lyrical approach. Scotti has shared stages with hip hop heavyweights like the Wu-tang Clan, Big Sean and Nitty Scott. He has featured in festival circuits like Canadian Music Week in Toronto, Summer Jazz Festival in Quebec City and A3C Festival in Atlanta. Emerging from the depths of 2020, Scotti responded to a tumultuous year with his flagship single, “Darkskin Sade (pt. 2)" and a rollout of bop-heavy singles like the latest "Dopamine" (produced by @prodbys1n) . Summer 2023 kicks off with an A-side/B-side single release "Halo x Home" (produced by The Glowsticks).
