Sarah Mae got her start in music learning covers next to Jesus' hymns while practicing for youth band at a methodist church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The youngest of four growing up in a sometimes chaotic household, she dove into songwriting. Finally a place to speak! But school came first and Sarah Mae was raised in an academic household. She went on to get a degree from UNC Chapel Hill with a BA in both Music and Anthropology. Post-graduation she moved to Nashville and makes a living singing on Broadway at Tootsies Orchid Lounge - a place famous for discovering legends such as Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson and many more. She also helps host the Saturday open-mic at the venue and is content creator for their groups social media. Her current music out is written with some of the best writers in town such as Jan Buckingham with cuts artists such as Pam Tillis and Whitney Houston who are country and pop icons. Sarah Mae Chilton is a true Carolina/Tennessee Southern girl singing country by day and writes pop by night. Southern Glitter Pop, that is!
