Gia J is a 24-year old rnb-pop recording artist and songwriter who combines notes of neo soul, rnb and pop to bring you all the feels. Gia speaks to her listeners through real life experiences of hopeless romantic love, loss, and all the healing in between. At the age of 4, Gia knew she wanted to be a singer and performer when she heard Alicia Keys’ famous melody of ‘If I Ain’t Got You’. Since then, it’s been her favourite song to sing at every open mic night. In a household full of The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Madonna, Gia stuck with her roots of the 90’s and early 2000’s, listening to her favourite artists such as Christina Aguilera, Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani and many more empowering female artists in the pop and rnb world. Growing up with these powerful role models translates into her current style of singing and songwriting as well as her chic street style both on and off stage. Gia majored in the Drama Arts Advantage Program in high school for 4 years and took part in numerous musicals, which made sitting through first period math class that much easier. When applying for college, having a music career seemed so out of reach, so she settled for her Plan B option. She soon realized that she wouldn't be fulfilled by 'playing it safe', so she dropped out and finally studied Performance and Songwriting. After graduating, she headed over to the studio to record her first single, "Rain". Since then, she hasn't stopped.
