Based in Cape Town, KRMN writes, produces and performs his own songs from his bedroom studio. He creates music that speaks about sadness and purpose with a style that leans into ambience and intimacy with Hip Hop, Rock and Electronic influences. KRMN has always been fascinated by music and songwriting. He started writing songs when he was only 10. When he turned 16, he started channeling his creativity into poetry to deal with his depression. His love for art and language only grew stronger when he got introduced to Hip Hop music, coming from primarily listening to Rock genres like Post-Hardcore and Hard Rock. His inspiration came from bands like My Chemical Romance and Bring Me The Horizon. In 2020, after the start of the pandemic, he faced another depressive episode as his long-term relationship ended. Writing became his outlet, and that's when he got more involved with the Hip Hop genre. He started producing music in 2021 for the first time. Some of his current biggest inspirations are Logic, Crywolf, NF, Ren and Mac Miller. His latest release "Strait" tells a story of his discovery of his love for music during times of uncertainty, struggle and depression. His constant struggle to fit in with others, and the scattered state of his mentality are explored as music becomes his guiding light to show the way.
