JoeMalo is an independent hip-hop music artist from the Bay Area whose music and lyrics are focused on providing listeners with perspective on global socio-political, environmental and economic conditions. As a former U.S Army Soldier and war veteran, much of JoeMalo’s music touches on his experiences as a Soldier while remaining connected to his life prior to his enlistment in Seaside, CA. JoeMalo aims to provide a lesson in his music and describes his style as urban poetry and conscious music. Touching on the street aspect of hip-hop and gangster rap while providing a lesson. JoeMalo’s “Listen to Words” campaign at #listentothewords, is aimed at getting back to the foundation of hip-hop music where the lyrics had meaning and message. “Rappers and hip-hop artists have a platform that allows them to influence the youth of our generation.
