Ill is the debut EP from Ill Japonia, a signal to the world broadcasted from the mist of forgotten saunas, the vapour of a plunge pool. Rapping and screaming in Japanese, English and his own self-invented language, Ill Japonia's vocals slip in and out of meaning. Language is a malleable tool in the flow of expression, as words tumble into a gauzy wall of emotion. Having teased an emergence with a remix of 'Happy Songs' by OYASUMI HOLOGRAM, Ill Japonia roared into 2020 with a run of 19 shows in 19 days in Japan alongside the likes of TYOSiN, Shaka Bose, Tohji, Dos Monos and frequent collaborator foodman. Now, Ill Japonia emerges from the fog of war with opal-cut clarity.
