Cindi Lou’s Mecha Assassins Guild was the most feared assassin’s guild in the galaxy. There is no better sleeper agent than infinitely patient machines. The machines would infiltrate a residence, place an intelligence chip in an otherwise non-conscious appliance, and then begin the daily process of convincing it to join the Guild and carry out a job. One day your toaster was just a toaster, the next it was conscious but silent, and a month later, it awaited orders to kill you. Law enforcement groups from various species developed squads specifically to counter the Guild, but none were sure of the Guild’s ultimate goal. Was it the creation of a mecha paradise? Replacement of organic life? More complicated political agendas? Perhaps they just wanted to watch the universe burn. While Cindi Lou did have deep, debilitating traumas and no love for most of the organic based life forms in the galaxy, this was not the main motivation of the Guild. She had found solace in little, discarded robots. She had spent years during a long, dark depression, on a planet sized technological dump, helping the discarded little bots and machines, learning how to fix them, and eventually improve them. Only through the act of organic assassination could they complete the last step in self-growth. She initially sent them on jobs out of love and a desire for their self-improvement. Sometimes in the dump, she would gather an old music player and sit and listen to Paul Shapera.
