Biography

Influenced early on by joining a Gospel choir and listening to soul artistes such as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Al Green and Luther Vandross, King’s style and flavour deliver a sound that is easy on the ear and alluring even for those who aren’t drawn by his specialised genre. However, his talents go beyond just one area. 
 Ash King’s musical talents gave him his first Bollywood break in 2009 in the award-winning soundtrack of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi 6. Personally discovered by Oscar-winner and maestro AR Rahman. Ash King recorded ‘Dil Gira Dafatan’ in Rahman’s personal home studio (Panchathan) and became the first singer to promote the intermingling of Gospel and RnB into Indian cinema. The song marked his Hindi debut, the first of many hits. 
 Ash Featured on Lady Gaga's official single for Bad Romance on a remix of Just Dance, this was also used in the remix album and the Asian release of the album. He sang, composed and co-wrote ‘Love is Blind’ which proved to be aother major stepping stone to musical success. King also wrote and featured his vocals to on ‘Look For Me’ with popular rapper Hard Kaur. 
 2012 started with a bang when he lent his voice to Imran Khan in the song 'Aunty Ji' for Imran Khan in the film 'Ekk Main Aur Ekk Tu'. These songs led to Ash doing his own full episode of MTV Unplugged in it's second season. King performed at the BBC London Mela and was also a part of BBC Five Live.<br>
