Beraber is the moniker of Amsterdam-based Turkish/Dutch producer and DJ Barış Akardere. With a background in producing hip-hop and instrumental beats, he made the switch to more uptempo territories a few years ago. He debuted this new sound on his Sun Ritual EP, released on La Freund Recordings in 2017, while 2018 saw him release music on Carista’s United Identities imprint and Cognitiva Recordings from Italy. Always adding bits to his studio setup, from vintage drum machines to classic analog and FM synths, his sound is constantly evolving. Rather than sticking to one specific style, he looks for a certain soulful, emotional and introspective feeling in the music he makes and plays. He takes inspiration from a wide range of music, from Detroit house to the lush Vancouver sound, proof of which you can find in his productions, DJ sets and monthly radio show 'Gentle Actions' on Amsterdam's RRFM. In 2019 he released his well-received Early Riser - EP on Icelandic label Lagaffe Tales, had his debut Boiler Room performance and delivered guestmixes for Deep House Amsterdam, NTS Radio and others. The next year started with the release of his Midnite EP. on London based record label Release/Sustain. The title track features Atlanta producer Byron the Aquarius and is remixed by Hidden Spheres. Later that year two new releases followed on compilations for United Identities and London's Semi Delicious label, as well as appearances at events like Dekmantel Connects.
