Biography

Poetic Thug (aka Latin Prince), is a Mexican-American rapper. Poetic Thug was born in Lansing, Michigan but raised in Abilene, TX since he was 9 years old. He formed his own independent label, Poetic Records, in 1995 with labelmate, Lil' Buda (Lance Norris). The first release was his group album with cousin, Romeo (Marcus Guardiola), entitled "Severe Weather" in 1999 which had the smash singles "Shine", "Can't Move On" and "Always On My Mind". In 2001, he released his solo album "Latino Heat" which featured Natalie (Gold artist that sang "Goin' Crazy"), Russell Lee (Dope House Records), Lil' Buda, Pablo Piccasso, Romeo, and more. The hit singles were "Down South Playaz" feat Natalie, Lil Buda, & Gifted, "Keep It On The Hush" feat Mr. Sincere & Romeo, and the self titled song "Latino Heat". Poetic Thug helped build his labels, Poetic Records & Dirty State Entertainment, by taking a step back and releasing his labelmates albums & compilation albums. In 2005, he released his long awaited solo album "Da One & Only" that have features from: Baby Bash, Powda, Big Gemini, Adassa, Juan Gotti, Rasheed, Cassette Coast and more. The hit singles were "Freak In Me" feat Baby Bash & Powda, "The One" feat Chief The Seminole, and "My Destiny" feat Natalie. Poetic Thug is currently working on his 3rd solo project entitled "LEGEND: Prince of the Lene" that will be released in 2024.
