Artist and musician Anat Ben-David works within different art forms and musical genres. Through a process she named ‘OpeRaart’, Ben-David composes, directs, orchestrates and performs. Anat released her first official solo album Virtual leisure on Chicks On Speed records (2008) produced and recorded at Truck Studios. The following album Melech was self-released on Plinki Music in 2014, followed by Tzipora 2019 and The Promise Of Meat 2021. Melech was part of Ben-David ‘s show at Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University in London, where Anat was awarded a PhD (‘Oscillation And Disturbance In The OpeRaArt’) Following Melech, Anat continued to work with gallery director David Falkner on Kairos OperaArt presented at Victoria and Albert Museum in 2017 ‘an ambitious new theatrical song-cycle incorporating fashion, opera, dance, experimental music and multi-media. Inspired by Sadie Plant’s seminal book Zeroes and Ones (1997)’ Art Direction & Costume designed by Boudicca, performing: Anat Ben-David Bishi, Anna Dennis, Sharon Gal, Katie Morel-Orchard, William Purefoy, Richard Scott, Gem Milsom, Ivan Lapse, Angharad Davies, Owen Dawson, Hilary Jeffery, Serge Vuille, Daniel Walton and Ute Kanngiesser. While working on Kairos, with singer Anna Dennis and poet and singer Richard Scott, the three formed a bond and continued working together in Tzipora in 2019 and The Promise Of Meat in 2021, both records released on Plinki Music.
