Eli Rose is an RnB and Soul artist who uses elements from Hip Hop,Pop, and even gospel to create emotionally poignant pieces that take listeners on journeys through his most intimate stories in creative ways that make each experience feel relatable to his audiences. The heart is apparent in the work of this artist from Chicago Heights as the lyrics, the melodies, and the emotion during the delivery showcase a raw honesty to his songs. Eli Rose has managed to use music to tell his stories well because of his long relationship with this art form. Music had been around in his household when he was growing up, and it helped him realize the potential it had in being a means of creative expression. Thus, listeners can experience that emotion and authenticity in his music. His first introduction to music was at Church where he found his voice singing gospel with his brothers and his father. From there the music he grew up listening to was Motown, being from a religious household this was the only secular music he was allowed to listen to with the exception of when he took care rides with his mother and was introduced to pop music. It wasn’t until high school that he was allowed to listen and was thoroughly introduced to hip hop/rap music. While initially not understanding the hype about Rap it was Kanye who made him realize the true art that hip hop really is. In 2019 Eli Rose decided it was time for him to be his own artist and he dropped his first body of work in 2020.
