Tom Snowdon is a singer, performer and writer. He grew up in Mparntwe/Alice Springs in central Australia - a dramatic landscape that has been an ongoing source of inspiration for Snowdon, and is reflected in his emotive work. His distinctive voice belongs in cathedrals and gorges, bending sounds into words with angelic falsetto and husky baritone. His otherworldly performance style is a mesmerising physical accompaniment to his vocal and musical expression. Snowdon’s first band Lowlakes was forged with his school friends in Mparntwe, and saw them tour Europe and North America several times. The band broke up after releasing one EP and one album, 2014’s Iceberg Nerves. In 2014 Snowdon guest performed on #1 Dads' cult-favourite album About Face, on its breakthrough single “Return To”. This collaboration eventually led the two artists to create the band No Mono, releasing Islands part I and II across 2018/19. In 2020 Snowdon released his first collection of solo work, an EP of covers titled Channel. Snowdon’s ability to distil the emotion of a song, and highlight its drama, means that his interpretations cause the listener to wholly reengage with a familiar work. Recent years have seen Snowdon creating music for dance companies, writing and guest vocaling with Willaris. K and upsidedownhead. And now Snowdon will finally release his first solo, original material in the form of two-track Flood at the Heart - about embracing fear and stepping into the new and unknown.
