For Melody Federer, a new era has just begun. The Texas-born artist, songwriter and producer has honed her craft all over the world and is ready to release her best work yet. Now splitting her time between Seattle and Nashville, she has continued to gain recognition in the worlds of Alt, Indie and Pop over the last years. In 2020, she made waves with “This Town,” a smoldering Alt-Rock track that made radio stand at attention, and “The Wonder Years,” an indie ballad that received rave reviews from the likes of Sir Elton John. In 2021, “I Hate Love” caught the ear of one of Melody’s musical heroes, artist and producer Absofacto. Believing in the song's potential, he came on board to Produce, alongside Nathan Barlowe, Kosuke Kasza, and CASTLE. The instantly catchy break-up song went viral on TikTok. Since then, Licorice Pizza Records released Melody’s full length album in 2023, “Chapters from the Fairytale” which sonically pulls from Melody’s different “chapters” navigating love and life in Seattle, Paris, New York and Nashville. For her new single, “Footloose”set to release Sept 27th, Melody teamed up with Sam Beresford from indie rock’s darling Winnetka Bowling League. It’s a neoteric, genre-crisscrossing, shimmering indie-rock-pop-bop that harkens Chappell Roan & Japanese Breakfast with it’s unique synths and rhythms kissing Melody Federer’s unique and captivating word play and searching, honest vocals.
