Yami Mahō is an Hannover/Hildesheim based artist born in Germany and raised by polish parents. Cultural differences and therefore cultural relativity have always been an issue in his reality as he's been a child born in-between the borders of the ideological west and the cultural east, of rich and poor, of colonizer and colonized, of killer and killed. Jammed in-between these obviously confusing predicaments it became clear very early that there is no one single cultural identity he can derive from. There is history for certain but is there any truth, is there any guidance at all? Like all of us, he had to find it hisself traversing through the waters, separating the waste from the minerals to make sense of it all. Today he has become a melting pot for different styles of music from all over the world and conjoures bass heavy dance music rooted in a socialization of 90´s Hip Hop, influenced by Reggae, Jazz, Afrobeat and diverse Latin American music.
