Trap Garage Mafia is a Hip Hop Duo from Cedar Rapids Iowa and Casey Illinois. Rap Duo Big Teo the Trap Man and Shade have been homies since the day they met at the age of 10 and 8. The Chameleon and underground style of Big Teo mixed with the gritty and Memphis inspired style of Shade makes them one of the more unique sounds in the Hip Hop genre. Trap Garage Mafia stems from the first track Teo and Shade recorded named Trap Garage under Trap Garage Records. Teo is quoted on the group name saying 'We got the name from the label we created TGR "Trap Garage Records' we put the mafia at the end because TGM sounds good but also we are a family these are all my brothers for life". The group pulls no punches when talking about subjects like the violence they experienced in the city, depression, and drug abuse from the members.
