Alexandre Guerra is a Brazilian composer, born in São Paulo in 1971. His production is divided between film scores and his works for the concert hall. Many of his works were inspired by the literature and works by artists such as Picasso and Goeldi. In recent years, his music has been performed regularly by various orchestras, such as Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Montevideo Philharmonic, Nacional Symphony, Bucharest Symphony, among others, in a total of more than 20 orchestras. The suite “Divagações Sobre a Noite” was premiered at Sala São Paulo by Nailor Proveta and the SPCS and his song cycle at Municipal de São Paulo interpreted by Denise de Freitas. The composer has released 27 albums, 11 of which recorded by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, as his “Fantasy for Guitar and Orchestra” soloed by Christian Dozza. The “Fantasy Rodin & Camille” with Fabio Martino, and his album “Ballet de Azul e Vento” was finalist in the 26th Brazilian Music Award. Alexandre now brings together over 30 concert works and 130 film scores, composed in collaboration with directors such as, Jayme Monjardim, Bruno Barreto, Pascal Cuissot and Marcelo Machado, in films and series as, “O Tempo e o Vento”, “The Violin Teacher”, “The American Guest” (HBO) and "Blue Brazil” (Disney).
