Modern Art of Pan Flute

Pan Flute and Organ

Debussy, Fauré & Ravel: Impressions f...

Biography

The pan flute player Sebastian Pachel is one of the few virtuosos and pioneers of his instrument. He is always looking for new and unusual sound combinations with the pan flute and tirelessly expands his repertoire from Bach to 20th century music. After initial autodidactic studies, Matthias Schlubeck and Ulrich Herkenhoff were among his pan flute teachers, and he studied jazz piano with Florian Weber and pan flute with Matthias Schlubeck. In 2018, his first album "Modern Art of Pan Flute" was released on the TimeZone label, on which he arranged various classical pieces in the neo-classical style with pan flute, piano and synthesizer. In 2023, his classical album "Pan Flute and Organ" was released on the Dabringhaus and Grimm label, which mostly presents his own arrangements for pan flute and organ by Bach, Merkel, Fauré and Bartók.
