Opal Onyx is a New York based duo formed in 2008 by Sarah Nowicki and Matthew Robinson. Their name drawn from the scintillating light of opal and the opaque darkness of onyx, exploring the light and the dark that balances our world. They've drawn inspiration from a myriad of genres and collaborations from their work as solo artists.The comfort they feel in their ability to use traditional instruments such as guitar and cello is felt in equal measure to their stretched and distorted synth and sampled layers. In 2015 they released Delta Sands, their multifaceted exploration of a dark and murky alternate universe. In 2020,they're set to release "Vessel" their full length follow up to "Delta Sands". The record ruminates on personal, global, natural beauty and disaster. "Vessel" is a place to put these heavy items and send them to a place for safe keeping. A place not dissimilar to an Oubliette. A dense and wildly colorful exploration of the human experience.
