Biography

A native of Prague, soprano Hana Blaziková attended Charles University, where she earned degrees in musicology and philosophy. She also studied voice with Jiri Kotouc at the Prague Conservatory, where she earned her diploma in voice in 2002. Blaziková has appeared in operas, notably as Susanna in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, and as Zerlina in Don Giovanni, though most of her performances have been in the early music field, where she sings and plays Gothic harp. She has performed with Masaaki Suzuki and the Bach Collegium Japan, Philippe Herreweghe and the Collegium Vocale Gent, Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and Choir, Václav Luks and Collegium Vocale 1704, Stephan MacLeod and Gli Angeli Genève, Peter Kooy and Sette Voci, Robert Hugo and Capella Regia Praha, and Rudolf Lutz and the J.S. Bach-Stiftung. Blaziková has also been a member of the Tiburtina Ensemble, which specializes in medieval music. She has recorded for Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Supraphon, CPO, Accent, and other labels.
