Biography

26 year old Josie Moon is a singer-songwriter from Wellington, New Zealand. With a hypnotic and timeless approach to edgy pop music, Josie presents a fascinating combination of genres and influences to promote themes of self-exploration and healing to her audience. Not shy of the stage, Moon has clocked live performances alongside Methyl Ethel, Crooked Colours, Tash Sultana, Chelsea Jade, and Thomston; and has made festival appearances including Rhythm & Vines (Main Stage) and The Others Way. Her last show was a sold out double headline with Sam Cullen at Wellington’s San Fran. Moon’s commercial debut EP ‘Rose Tinted’ (2018) was well received by critics and fans alike – Achieving 4 stars in the NZ Herald, #1 iTunes Top 200 Pop Chart (Czech Republic), ‘After Hours’ reaching #9 on the NZ Viral 50 Chart; and TV/Radio support from MTV, The Edge, ZM, RNZ National & George FM. In the years since, Moon has been invited to attend the esteemed APRA/AMCOS Songhubs writing camp; and has advocated for mental health & positive youth development via Converse x Coup De Main’s ‘Love Fearlessly’ campaign and appearances at National Young Leader Days (NYLD) across New Zealand – all while focusing her sound and completing her debut album ‘Paint Me How You Need Me.’ Released May 2022.
