A near reverential dedication to truth is the foundation of De Zenzo’s artistic identity. Unabashedly introspective and keenly observant of the outside world in equal measure, the rapper born Eric Sikawa in Lilongwe, Malawi, spent his early adolescence honing the sure-footed, narrative-led lyrics that have become synonymous with his singular style of rap. He first began making music aged 10. Since then music has remained his foremost passion. First dropping his debut Mixtape “I’m Coming” in 2018 produced and featured by Muska with the Trap Legacy Label, he would go on to only drop a few singles like “Malawi Gold”, “Rising sun”, “Before XX Freestyle” with the legendary producer Martin Anjelz, and “What I want” that all got him a slot on Third Eye’s tour as well as appearances on Joy Nathu’s Made on Monday show. Silence followed with only internet challenges that gained him a little more recognition in the Malawian Music Industry. Until the release of his Debut Album “Even Realness Is Currency” in 2024 Executive Produced by Malawian rap mogul Third Eye, and features like Krazie G, Crispy Malawi, Brainlock Fam, Episodz,Ja$per, OG Smokey and Anonymou$ the future looks bright for De Zenzo’s music career.
