Benny Oyama is a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from New York City who travels the world spreading connection and dharma through music. His mission is to aid in humanity’s process of becoming fully expressed and intimately interrelated beings through music and storytelling. He has carried out this mission across the globe as a performer, singer, and through a commitment to receiving and sharing sacred songs. The poetry and harmony of his music is delivered with a broad spectrum of vocal styles and intricate guitar work predominantly inspired by the richness of Brazilian and American Folk traditions, as well as Eastern music and jazz modalities. Ultimately, Benny’s songs are about reclamation: the sticky process of reconnecting to the universal essence and opening up into intimacy and vulnerability and away from fear and separation. His music offers passage through the realm of melancholy that is necessary for the healing process. Benny’s musical message is essentially about saying yes to all of life.
