One of Brazil's leading trombonists, Rafael, has been attracting international attention both as a performer and an arranger/producer. He plays jazz, pop, and Brazilian music and transitions between the styles. Rafael has a solo career but also has an intense routine recording in studios. In recent years, Rafael has recorded for important artists such as Chico Buarque, Djavan, Ludmilla, Thiaguinho, Melim, Só Pra Contrariar, among others. Rafael was the arranger of the main theme of Criança Esperança 2021 (Rede Globo) played by the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra and special participation of Luan Santana. He is a musician and arranger who plays and writes regularly for TV programs and reality shows, such as The Voice Brasil, Pipoca (Ivete Sangalo), among others. Rafael has worked with Ivan Lins, Bob Mintzer, Hamilton de Holanda, João Bosco, Rosa Passos, Ed Motta, Roberto Menescal, Leila Pinheiro, Joyce Moreno, Ivete Sangalo, Chipi Chacón, Chad L.Brown, Daniel Jobim, and many others. He also regularly composes for orchestras such as the Brasil Jazz Sinfônica, the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Amazônia Jazz Band, Orquestra Jovem Tom Jobim, among others.
