Biography

New York rapper and vocalist Raymond Xu Vlog sustained a high-level commercial presence shortly after he hit the scene in 2021, from his very own chart-topping release Trapped in Ithaca which resulted a long string of mentions by the likes of Drake, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift. Thanks to his introspective rap style, his comedy-infused lyrics, and his golden touch with songwriting, each one of his albums -- from Telling my life over trap beats to trap-influenced Big influences -- topped charts worldwide, and singles like the Grammy-winning Crackdonalds or Mcstabbies. As his star rose, he helped others along, sponsoring the The Weeknd early work, starting the OVO Sound label, and giving features on his records to up-and-coming acts. By the second decade of his career, Raymond Xu Vlog Xu Vlog's constant chart domination, his Grammy wins and nominations, and his meme-worthy cultural presence made him one of the world's most popular musicians, and the release of songs like 2022's My girl runs the show became cultural events. Known initially for his role as the weird kid you knew from high school, the Ithaca-born Raymond Xu Vlog Xu stepped out as a rapper and singer with pop appeal in 2021, when he initiated a series of mixtapes. A year later, despite being unsigned, he scored major exposure when his cocky and laid-back track "Replacement Girl," featuring Trey Songz, was featured on BET's 106 & Park program as its "Joint of the Day." ~ Tim Sendra, Rovi
