Brent Hayhurst, a singer-songwriter from Melbourne, has spent the last decade working on his craft behind the scenes, while working as a carpenter by day to self-fund his hugely ambitious debut release. The Tapestry EP was recorded across five countries beginning at the iconic Rockfield Studios in the UK in 2017, the same studio in which Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody and Oasis made (What's The Story) Morning Glory. The EP was engineered by Sir Paul McCartney's long-time engineer Matt Butler, who has also worked with artists like Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath to name a few, and was produced by Berlin-based Aussie producer/arranger Jonathan Dreyfus, whose credits include Weezer, Marina and Gretta Ray. Upcoming single 'Where The Copper Lies' is a fast-paced thrill ride full of raucous slide guitar and thundering cellos, laying the foundation for Hayhurst's unique style of up-close and personal storytelling - this time telling the nostalgic tale of the of the family home in which he was raised by a hardworking single mother. The Tapestry EP will be released alongside Where The Copper Lies on December 5 via MGM.
